In June 2020, we decided to open a store in Champaign, IL to help homeowners beautify their spaces with an easy addition: plants.

This connection to plant life goes back to our native Vietnam. We grew up surrounded by tropical plants. We love how plants represent life and how they can create a tranquil and positive environment.

We are graduates of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Long received his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2016 and worked in companies that connected directly to his degree before deciding to change gears to plants. It might be a dramatic shift from the chemical lab, but it was an easy one to make because of the people who shop at Plantify. Being able to help customers find the plant they love makes our work fun. We find great joy in taking care of plants and talking about plants with our customers every day.

After obtaining a PhD degree in Communications from UIUC in 2022, Giang began her career as a UX researcher in Seattle, WA. Long opened the current Plantify store in Redmond in Dec 2022.
