Plantify began as a passion-driven plant business that has evolved into a beloved plant design and retail destination in the Seattle area. The roots of Plantify trace back to 2020 when founders Long Luu and his wife Giang Pham opened the first Plantify store in Champaign, Illinois during the COVID-19 pandemic. As people spent more time at home, Long and Giang noticed a growing interest in indoor greenery and the desire to create calming, nurturing living spaces, a trend that sparked their decision to share their love of plants with others.

Both Long and Giang grew up surrounded by lush tropical vegetation in Vietnam and share a lifelong appreciation for the way plants enhance physical spaces and improve wellbeing. Their belief in the positive effects of greenery, from reducing stress to lifting mood, helped shape Plantify’s mission of “growing happiness” through thoughtful plant selections and personalized care.

Plantify in Illinois became known for its hand-selected plants, and expert care advice, quickly becoming a welcoming destination for plant lovers. In late 2022, Long relocated to the Seattle area to bring Plantify’s concept to the Pacific Northwest while Giang pursued her career in user experience research.

Since establishing its presence in the Seattle area, Plantify has evolved far beyond the model of a traditional plant shop. While it continues to offer a carefully curated selection of plants and planters, the company now specializes in custom plant design and comprehensive plant care services for both residential and commercial spaces across the region.

Today, Plantify Seattle operates as a full-service plant design studio, focused on creating cohesive plant compositions that complement architectural elements, reflect each client’s lifestyle, and flourish long term. Long’s scientific training, including a Ph.D. in Chemistry, combined with his lifelong connection to tropical landscapes, shapes a thoughtful approach that blends artistry with practicality. This foundation allows Plantify to balance visual impact with sustainability, ensuring every plant selection and designed space embodies both beauty and enduring health.
