Cactus Hoodia gordonii aka Bushman's Hat Cactus - 4" Pot
Hoodia gordonii is a species of cactus that is native to the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa. It is a popular plant in traditional medicine and is known for its appetite-suppressing properties. It has been used by indigenous people for centuries to help reduce hunger and thirst during long hunting trips.
In recent years, hoodia has become popular as a weight loss supplement, although there is limited scientific evidence to support its effectiveness for this use.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Light: This plant prefers bright, direct sunlight, so a south- or west-facing window is a good location.
Water: Water the plant sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between watering. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Temperature: Hoodia gordonii prefers warm temperatures and can tolerate temperatures up to 100°F (38°C).
Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix.
Fertilizer: Fertilize the plant with a balanced cactus fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
